Wi‑Fi & Cellular Site Preparation
KCS prepares your buildings and sites for reliable Wi‑Fi and cellular coverage. We design and install the low‑voltage cabling, pathways and physical infrastructure that your wireless systems need to perform.
What is Wi‑Fi & Cellular Site Preparation?
Modern Wi‑Fi and cellular systems depend on much more than just the access points or radios. To work properly, they need:
- Correct cable routes and pathways
- Adequate power and low‑voltage cabling
- Proper mounting locations and hardware
- Clean backbone cabling to network rooms and head‑ends
KCS focuses on this infrastructure layer. We make sure your site is physically ready so that your integrator or carrier can deploy Wi‑Fi, Small Cells, DAS or other wireless solutions efficiently and safely.
What KCS does (Scope of Work)
Site surveys & RF‑ready infrastructure assessment
- Site walks of buildings, campuses, warehouses and outdoor areas
- Identification of optimal cable routes for access points and small cells
- Review of existing IDFs, MDFs, risers and pathways
- Identification of mounting options (ceilings, walls, poles, enclosures)
- Coordination with your IT or wireless provider’s RF design
Low‑voltage cabling for Wi‑Fi access points and radios
- Installation of Cat 6 / Cat 6A cabling for:
- Indoor Wi‑Fi access points (office, education, healthcare, hospitality, retail)
- Outdoor Wi‑Fi and point‑to‑point radios
- Small Cell / radio nodes where copper is required
- PoE‑ready cabling where needed (per equipment specs)
- Proper separation of data and power in pathways to reduce interference and simplify maintenance
- Labeling of every cable and outlet to match plans and as‑built documentation
Fiber & backbone cabling to wireless head‑ends
- Fiber optic cabling (single‑mode or multimode) between:
- IDFs and MDF
- Telecom rooms and roof / outdoor enclosures
- Wireless controller rooms / network core
- Patch panel installation and termination in network rooms
- Testing and certification of all fiber links
Pathways, containment & mounting
- Design and installation of cable trays, J‑hooks, raceways and conduits for Wi‑Fi and cellular cabling
- Roof and outdoor cable pathways for radios, antennas and associated power/network cables
- Mounting of:
- Brackets and backboards for network equipment
- Indoor and outdoor junction boxes where required for radios/APs
- Conduit and penetrations according to code and building standards
Coordination with DAS / Small Cells / Carriers
- Requirements from mobile operators, neutral host providers or DAS vendors
- Cable routes and backbone connectivity from radio locations back to the DAS head‑end or baseband equipment room
- Physical segregation and clear labeling of DAS, Wi‑Fi and other low‑voltage systems.
Typical environments we prepare
KCS provides Wi‑Fi & Cellular site preparation services for:
- Office buildings and corporate campuses
- Hospitals and healthcare facilities
- Schools and universities

Our process
Discovery & Site Walk
We review your wireless goals (coverage, capacity, areas of concern) and perform a site walk to understand existing cabling, telecom rooms and physical constraints.Infrastructure Design
Based on the RF design from your wireless partner, we design:- Low‑voltage cabling routes and counts
- Pathways (trays, conduits, J‑hooks)
- Mounting locations and backboards
- Backbone connectivity to IDFs/MDF
Implementation
- Install and terminate copper and/or fiber cabling
- Build and organize pathways and risers
- Install mounts, enclosures and backboards
- Coordinate with other trades on site
Testing, Labeling & As‑Builts
- Test all cabling per spec
- Label drops, panels and pathways
- Provide as‑built documentation for your wireless integrator and IT teams
Why work with KCS for site preparation?
- Wireless‑focused low‑voltage expertise
KCS understands what Wi‑Fi and cellular systems need at the physical layer and speaks the same language as your RF and IT teams. - Consistent, standards‑based work
We follow TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC and BICSI guidelines for structured cabling and pathways, making future upgrades easier. - Clean, documented installs
Your wireless providers and IT staff receive a well‑organized environment, labeled and documented for quicker turn‑ups and troubleshooting.
